Hidden Fractals

A fractal is an infinitely repeating pattern that appears visually similar no matter what the scale you view it at. Fractals have a very precise mathematical definition but to really understand what they are, you need only look to nature. River networks, fault lines, snowflakes, and many different plants exhibit the characteristics of pure, mathematical fractals in a beautifully simplified manor.

Hidden Fractals is an exploration of the underlying patterns and shapes which permeate my daily life. By duplicating and reflecting images culled from my travels through Oakland and San Francisco, I reveal the hidden symmetry that exists if you take the time to visualize it.
